I never made it to work this morning, as a stupid fuck driving a flatbed truck made an illegal left turn from the right lane through me and my bike. My right leg is fucked up where his bumper hit me, but miraculously not broken. Some minor road rash through the jeans (still whole) and the heavy leather jacket (somewhat damaged, but still in one

Yikes! Boston drivers are lethal...and it pisses me off how (1) truck drivers think they own the road and (2) drivers in general have so little awareness of motorcycle drivers.

I'm glad nothing is broken and that you are relatively well off, considering. I hope there are no long-term lingering effects of your leg injury and that you heal up quickly with the minimum necessary pain.

And I hope that a-hole loses his trucking license.

Glad you're ok, if banged about. Makes me worry about the long trip *I* have planned, if crap like this happens to perfectly reasonable drivers on their way to work (but then yeah, I've had a few close calls).

Hope you're recovering well. Darvocet sucks to the point of being inadequate, by the way. Do not feel reticent about asking for Real Pain Medicine, if you need it.

Whidden, yep. The doctor I saw yesterday was surprised they were still in business. The recovery seems to be progessing better now, but it is clearly going to be a long road to 100%. The Flexeril they gave me yesterday seems to be doing a lot more for me than the pain meds had been, so I am able to handle the remaining pain levels fairly well.

I'm glad you're okay. I hope your leg heals quickly and properly. Damn stupid drivers. Everybody else just needs to not be on the road. Being that I am close by and like to be helpful, if you need anything give me a holler.
