Week Six.

The gig this week was to write a fable. My story is an abysmal failure, at least in the sense of being a fable. It totally isn't. It's just a jumble of weirdness. No moral at all. In fact, it sort of rambles on and never really ends at all. What can I say? I had nothing this week. But I tried. A for effort?

That was probably the strangest piece I've seen from you. A for imagination, but I agree, I don't get the fable piece of it, using the "definition" of fable as a tale with a learning point.

I'm sorry I didn't get into this exercise, though. It looks like a marvelous tool for getting the discipline of actually putting pen to paper on a regular basis. Well, okay, fingers to keyboard, or whatever.

I still look forward to more of your efforts.

Most things I write I either have a good idea of the outcome, or else they begin to flow at some point. This one did neither. It is not a fable. There is no moral. I never had any idea what was going to happen, and each new paragraph was like passing a needle through my eye. But I finished it, goddamn it.

And thanks for reading, as always :)
