Most recent bloods yesterday support my conclusion that there is a parathyroid problem as the period where I was taking vit D lowered the pth, but increased the calcium to the extent that I have been making and passing stones since 11th October, and I am still having them. Last night was rough.

Have been to see the dentist at the hospital this morning. Am now on the waiting list for extraction of the broken wisdom tooth. Probably a few weeks as is local anaesthetic. General anaesthetic wait is over a year!

Had the bonus experience with a week of antibiotics for the uti and stones that it seems to have cleared out the jaw/saliva gland ( Read more... )

ENT was disappointing. He couldn't help with parathyroid. Said it was the wrong clinic for that and I'd need an endocrinology referral.

Stuck a camera up both sinuses. Said it looked like I'd had a recent infection but otherwise all fine and would refer me for a ct scan.

In other words, keep using the schnoz spray and sterimar and put up with it. Can ( Read more... )

The Tesco delivery chap this morning was very lovely and offered to pray for me when he got back in his van. He gave me a Miraculous Medal. All our Halloween decs are still in the window, and the big doll gave him a start so perhaps he thought i needed saving too...

It is happening again.

15 years ago I had hyperparathyroidism diagnosed after c-section and a gland with adenoma removed, followed by lithotripsy x4 and a remaining stuck stone removed from my kidney through surgery...

Hurrah! Finally a date for my wisdom tooth to be looked at and the sinuses/throat/eustachian tube problems. ENT and Maxillofacial appointments all in one week from 4th November. The sooner this blasted broken tooth is out the better and I need the other issues looked at too ( Read more... )

Last nights side effects and physical reaction to the antibiotics had me up all night and calling 111 in the morning to ask if I should continue. The efficient lady on the other end mostly listened to leg cramps, neck and jaw pain and spasms, palpitations etc and thus the algorithm dictated that she should call an ambulance. Round three of antibiotics.

This time because I am feeling like I am making kidney stones again and probably have a bladder/kidney infection. Lower back and spine on fire along with the rest.

Kind of considered it inevitable because high calcium in the blood has to exit somehow but doesn't make it any easier to cope with.

This weeks repeat bloods came back with improvement in vit d and parathyroid hormone since i have been taking a supplement, but raised calcium so I have to repeat all the tests in 3 weeks. Repeat of previous hyperparathyroidism issues looks likely:/
