Staying mentally tough for me is all about knowing where the finish line is. Right now, the big Ironman finish line is almost 7 months away which seems way out there. But between here and there I have a lot of little finish lines to cross.

So I went and voted yesterday. As I stood there and filled in my little boxes, I remember feeling really happy and excited. Why? I have no idea. Mathematically one's vote gets less important as the number of people voting rises. The math frustrates me and makes me think that we will experience a crisis of government at some point in the future ( Read more... )

I don't consider myself supremely mechanically apt, but I'm a pretty good problem solver and that has gotten me into and out of a few messy situations.   Plumbing and large home appliances are new territory for me, and true to form, they were the cause of some frustration but even more entertainment.   Enjoy...
