Just saw V for Vendetta. Damned good movie, much more to it than the popcorn flick I had expected going in. Still rather depressing, though.

Had a good time at Running Gagg again this year. Still the best little con ever. I ran my first con game, which seemed to go well. The players had more to do with it than I did, it was a good group and they basically made their own fun. But hey, as long as everyone had a good time ( Read more... )

Two pieces of really cool news today.

First, She Spies is finally coming out on DVD. The first season of that show was freaking awesome.

Second, Mindstorms is getting an upgrade. Me wants.

The couples we game with are coming to spend New Year's weekend at our place. This is cool, as is the fact that it's my turn to run, which means playing Shadowrun. We just had a new front door installed. Boy what a great time of year to have a gaping hole where the front door normally is for a few hours. I did crank up the fireplace, but that thing doesn't seem to do much towards warming the house. A pulp adventure movie that tried really hard to not take itself seriously. It basically succeeded in that respect, but would have been much better with wittier writing. As it was it had its moments, even if a few too many of them were predictable. And it's not often you get to hear a line like "Time traveling ninjas, and they're out to kill us."

It's a good thing our children aren't being exposed to religion in school.

But in more lighthearted news, how about some nice gun reviews.

I don't necessarily recommend either of those sites, they just happen to be the originators of the stories I was sent.
