I had a chance to try the board game Caylus recently. Short form is that the game is damn fun. It has a fairly crunchy mechanic that flows easily once you get the hang of it. 1. I went with the lady to her LARP's February Feast event. Not that I LARP, but I helped cook, hung out and played board games. A few of our friends go, plus I met a couple new people who were cool. I have been contemplating the current regulation against bringing liquids, gels or lotions onto aircraft. What I wonder is if I bring ice on the plane, and it melts, am I in violation of the policy? I finally saw Clerks over the weekend. After seeing it, I am fully amazed that it or Kevin Smith ever became famous. Freaking incredible.

Finally got network cable run to my office. Ended up drilling through the floor in the closet. Realized afterword that I'm an idiot and that if I'd cut a hole in the wall and drilled a hole down from there I would have ended up in basically the same place but could have put a neatly installed port in thr wall instead of having cable dangling out a ( Read more... )

Maintained my productive streak last evening by finally getting a GFCI outlet installed for the kitchen and a new outlet installed downstairs. Plus Monday evening I got 4 rose bushes planted. It's been a good week so far, hopefully tonight I'll get the sound system for our tv hooked up and clean the house.

Plumbing project #2, my first to involve soldering, more than made up for how well Project #1 went. The first attempt leaked, still not sure why except that I must have screwed up the soldering. The second attempt was doomed to failure, I had forgotten that the pipe was dented on the side facing the wall, so it didn't even come close to working. My ( Read more... )
