NJ Transit had the opposite happen when their yearly steam train ride to see the leaves up the Port Jervis line ran out of steam because someone miscalculated how much fuel the round trip would need. The commuter train had to come up and rescue them (it was a few years ago - and after that I think the commuter train pushed/pulled it back to Hoboken)

Isn't it though? There are some things are more convenient and modern technologies just can't handle and we need the older ones to come through for us. Nice to know there's still a place for it. Like Vacuum tubes. I cried the day they took the tester out of our local Meijers.
