On Halloween weekend, I headed to the mountains once again. This time it was a trip to Maisan Mountain, which is otherwise known as Horse Ears Mountain. Big update with lots of photos coming ASAP.

I took a photo of this store when I went to Daejon to go to Costco. Now the only reason I actually paid for a membership here was the fact that they had Tillamook pepperjack cheese, and chocolate covered blueberries from Seattle, oh and Bagels and tortillas, nearly impossible to find in Korea.

I spent last weekend (Sunday and Monday was a holiday) on Sunyu-do. It's an island that is a 1.5 hour ferry ride from Gunsan in the Yellow Sea. Originally I had planned to go with a rather large group but things come up as they do in Korea. One fellow got too drunk and got lost and ended up getting no sleep and missed the last ferry. This past weekend I had originally planned to go biking on a nearby island. Apparently the guy that was putting the trip together was found passed out in a pool of vomit under his hagwon the next day at 11 p.m. and he had lost his cell phone and keys. My friend Sonia had come up from Jeonju to come along, but no one showed up at the train station ( Read more... )

So today when I arrived at my school one of the directors said she found out about this vegetarian restaurant that just opened in my neighborhood. She also said that everything was very natural and without pesticides... IE organic. Then she said that they we take me out to it tonight if I had no other commitments. I was sure to jump on it.
