[In the morning, Adell's journal clicks to life without him noticing.  The scene viewers are treated to is the inside of Adell's room, which is... currently a little Spartan in decoration.  There's not much on the walls, except a picture or two of people he once knew from Luceti.  Otherwise, there's a bookcase in the room that is

[He turns around at the familiar voice, from the book. After a second, he heads over and picks up the journal, looking back at her through the camera.]

Yeah, that's right. Two years as of... two days ago.

Yeah, definitely. Experiments, people coming and going, the drafts, the enemies outside the barrier, people from entirely different worlds, all sorts of ideas.

Luceti, if nothing else, broadens your view on things.

[...There may be a bit of cynicism to that. But it's not a critical cynicism, so much as an experienced one.]

Yup, pretty long time for around here. How long have you been around?

[Selphie got some bad news on this day and she's quite upset by it. However, instead of hiding herself in her bedroom all day, she'd donned her training gear and was testing out some of Faeren's filial magic in a simulation of the Island Closest to Hell.

She happens to be going solo on a Blue Dragon and she's not really faring that well. Be a nice not!uncle and help your not!niece out?]

[With pleasure. Considering that Blue Dragon looks like it's about to have Selphie on the ropes, Adell leaps in ignites his fist ablaze and punches it in the face, hopefully diverting its attention to him rather than Selphie.]

Hey, you overgrown gecko! Pay attention to me if you don't want me to break your face!

Adell!

[Selphie's had only a few occassions to see Adell at work as she fires off another round of Faeren's magic at the beast before a few decisive flicks of her wrist lands a few painful sounding blows as the Dragon roars in fury.]

[Adell grits his teeth. Selphie definitely did some damage to the thing, and keeping its attention might be tough. The dragon will lash out at him with its front claws, but Adell dodges out of the way and then lunges in like a bullet and kicks it in the face, following up with a devastating elbow strike.]

I didn't realize it had been that long for you as well.

I admit, I didn't know you were here for that long either. It's kind of surreal, thinking about it.

About the same amount of time as Rydia. I'll never understand why some of us remain here for so much longer than others.

I'm not sure I will either. There might be an explanation somewhere down the line but I guess it boils down to us having extreme cases of... luck.

[Said that it could be either case. Good, or Bad. More likely bad, given the tone, but he does believe some people are lucky here.]

[It appears that the boundaries between light and darkness, as well as 'inside and outside', as obtuse as it sounded, were both easy enough to manipulate. It allows her to eavesdrop without being seen. She was interested in Adell, to be certain, plus now Yuuka was investigating, and Yukari knew to look after her own world's youkai.]

[Yukari easily goes unseen by Adell. Even if he was looking for her, he wouldn't be able to spot her...

But he's already preoccupied.

Adell's found himself in a huge casino, with tables that are oversized for humans. But not oversized for these sorts of people. There are lots of them in here, Baciels, or more commonly known as Rifle Demons, native to Adell's home universe. And most of them are dressed in casino finery.

...But what could be a simple gambling expedition is... actually an all out casino fight. The Baciels open fire at Adell, shooting powerful purple lasers at him, while he closes the gap supernaturally fast and starts beating two of them down with his fists.

A third nearby takes aim, but Adell effortlessly rips up one of the casino roulette tables from its mounts and hurls it at the demon like a missile.]

[It's a good thing to note, that Adell isn't particularly magically sensitive. Of course, it's inconclusive, as there's an incredibly high chance of him being distracted... he doesn't even seem to be fast enough to react to the fourth bringing Adell into his sights from behind...IF he even sees it.

Yukari won't interfere too much... but even in situation like Luceti, she still has enough power to open up a gap in time/space. An oddly ribbon-adorned seam opens up in the air, swallowing up Baciel #3 and the rapidly propelled roulette table...

...and a second 'gap' opens up in the cieling above #4, forcefully dropping roulette and rifle demon both on its victim.

[He's aware of magic and can sense some forms of power, mostly from his world, but Yukari's ability to magically manipulate boundaries isn't something he's learned to pick up on yet.

But that seam in time and space opening up, stealing away the projectile table and its recipient was confusing, but he immediately turns toward the fourth demon, prepared to dodge its attack, knowing it was coming... only it wasn't, as a table and a demon get dumped on rather violently. He pauses, and looks genuinely lost.]

...What the...?

[That wasn't a glitch in the program.]
