Azula hides a wince at Ty Lee’s giggling as they watch the others plunge into the fountain. It’s grating even though she knows it’s not directed at her. Never at her.

“See. I told you it would work.” Ty Lee starts giggling even harder, and Azula allows herself a chuckle.

She watches closely, and knows that the trembling in her brother’s shoulders isn’t from the cold water. He’s sitting still, frozen like prey when a hawk is about, and Azula supposes that the comparison is accurate enough.

She imagines Zuzu with ears like a cat-rabbit, trembling as she circles above, and it’s so funny. She laughs again, louder this time. He flinches.

We may have to share this weakness, she thinks, but I will have power over it. Over you.

Her brother runs, and she knows that he’s one less person who will be able to laugh at her today.

vicious azula, vicious. and of course she would strike at zuko's shared weakness, for the pain, fear and distress of others distracts from her own.
