I am not at all surprised Raylan Givens would be up your alley.
Re: Arrow, I'm pretty convinced that the Oliver/Diggle teamup is a core part of the show concept rather than a setup for Diggle to die and make Ollie sad & angry (er), though I can see why that was an initial impression. I'm definitely watching this for the supporting cast, though I hope Ollie gets more interesting by osmosis, at least.
I've been reading Elmore Leonard for years, yet I somehow never got round to watching the show. Probably because it was always on unnecessarily late at night, for some reason. I mean, Arrow is more violent than Justified, and it gets shown at 8pm.
Diggle early on had all the hallmarks of a character there to supply angst. But he seems to be popular, which may encourage them to keep him alive.
Ollie - much like Sarah Connor - needs to quit narrating and just get on with the heroic terrorism.
I really need to get around to Justified one of these days.
Also, I thought the Castle con episode was just a little too on-point. It made Community look like a light hand with the meta. But I'll always take the floof episodes over anything, ANYTHING involving Beckett's mom or Castle being set up for murder or any of that darkngrim crap. The ending of the sci-fi con episode made it all worth it. :P
