Violence, even terror, always exists on the periphery of empire. They are the means by which empire is consolidated, defended, extended. I had to respond to this. You've said something. Usually, you don't say much. Not that I do, I'm just saying... not much to respond to.

You're right. It's deeply, deeply depressing, and it's why I don't watch television. It's also a huge reason for why I love to write, to escape. To create things in people that I'm sure must exist but have never seen.

It's like the world's turning into this gaping black hole, like everyone's dissolving from the inside out. Empty shells, all over the place, so many people so desperate to express with no means to do so, nothing to talk about, suffocated by norms.

The world plainly fucking sucks right now.
