I'm doing something I swore I would never do

I'm hyphenating my name. That's right. I am officially going to be Celeste Mary Bocchicchio-Chaudhri. Because, you know, my name wasn't long enough. It wasn't hard enough to pronounce, and it certainly wasn't hard enough to spell. I'm gaining only 2 new letters out of it though, the u and the d. We're throwing in another ch for good measure, ( Read more... )

aelkiss and I have been going through the same bandying. We still aren't sure what we're going to do. Right now we're leaning toward keeping our last names and hyphenating our future kids' names... but neither of us is really excited about that compromise. We'll see.

This is one of those times when I understand why so many people just go with the traditional route. So much easier!

When are you and aaron getting married?

I agree, the traditional route is much easier.... but it feels kind of uncomfortable too. Alas!

We're getting married early summer of 2010. So about a year from now. ^_^

i was just wondering if you were EVER going to update your livejournal again and then here you are! i think Chaudricchio would have sounded really nice. But hyphenating is good too! :)

yeah I'm pretty terrible about LJ. I kind of like Chauchicchio too, to be honest, but Hassan wasn't so into it.

You and Hassan will someday have a child who will marry Jesse and Lauren's child. They will then become the Bocchicchio-Chaudri-Eggert-Crowe-Saba-Kirchner family. And the world will explode!
*I like the way they do it in Mexico, personally.

Yes! Even though I am usually all for progressive things like love marriage, I think in this instance an arranged marriage is necessary and justified. They WILL marry!

Hope that's alright with you Lauren!

Chris and I, without going through the legal gobloodigok, added each others last names to our middle names. We each sign things with all four initials now. As our names become alliterative and assonant when added together, which is quite a feat, we deemed this the most appropriate solution.

PS, if you wanted to make this more official, you could just actually change your middle names. Then you would share a name a piece.

yeah, we talked about that...but neither of us every actually use our middle names so it would just get a little lost.

First, that's great.

Second, I urge you to select first and middle names for your children that have three or four syllables in them. Not that I have any actual say, but I fell it would be proper for you to have some just extremely polysyllabic children.

First, thanks!

Second, I don't know. I was thinking with Bocchicchio-Chaudhri as a last name, I probably shouldn't give them actual first names, just initials. So they could be Q Bocchicchio-Chaudhri and X Bocchicchio-Chaudhri, and, last but not least, Y Bocchicchio-Chaudhri.

Make sure Y's a boy so that he can be the last man on earth due to the Armageddon caused when one of his sibs marries one of Lauren/Jesse's children.
