I don't know if Penny Arcade intends a tip of the hat to Chairman Mao in today's comic. I suspect 'no' but I hope 'yes'. And certainly far stranger has happened, I dare say.

So, Mazda is recalling about 65,000 cars, and hold on to your hats for the reason why:

"The recall of 2009 and 2010 Mazda6s is due to 'a certain type of spider' that 'may weave a web in the evaporative canister vent line and this may cause a restriction in the line.'"

George R.R. Martin's fifth book in the series, "A Dance With Dragons" has a publication date, apparently: July 12, 2011.

So that's interesting. I also read the first book in the Kushiel's series; more on that later.

I can only say that today's Penny Arcade Television, which technically chronicles the writing of this comic, but which is primarily about the comic that came right before it, is startling.

I am rarely given to being fascinated by unpleasant things; as a rule I do not like cringe comedy, for instance. But... jeezus.
