An absolutely perfect ending; John and the boys riding off into the sunset. This was lovely. I felt so bad for Sam with his nightmares, but John made up for all of his anger and pressure. Aww. It's all over, but I am so glad that Sammy pulled through. YAY!

*Hugs*

The beginning faked me out and brought tears to my eyes.

And now they're still there, but they're tears of joy.

Thank you.

:-D I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! I kinda wanted to make people think I'd killed Sam off at the beginning, and then get a nice surprise when they found out he was still alive... poor child.
Thanks for the lovely comment!

Ah, nice fake-out ending there. I love the image of sick Sam curled up on a tiny sofa asleep with Dean, who doesn't even think to move. So perfect. And gotta love John's awkward attempts at showing his love and concern; sharing and caring is totally not his thing but he does a pretty decent job here, I'd say. Lovely job :)

Poor John - he loves his boys but has very little idea of how to show them that in a way they'll understand (especially Sam). At least he TOLD him here, though :-P And yes, I must say I rather like Sam falling asleep cuddled up next to Dean :-D
Thanks so much for commenting!

I will say that I've always found it interesting that Sam would grow up being the one who always wanted to talk things out while Dean was much more in line with the traditional Winchester stoicism since Dean has those few memories of peaceful life before the fire and of his kind parents while Sam never had any of that gentleness in his life. I guess Dean squashed any of his own need to talk feelings out when John withdrew into himself but was always willing to listen to Sam's problems. The Winchester family dynamic absolutely fascinates me, haha.
