Trieze!

It is quite an upsetting feeling, loneliness. I am unsure if the majority is aware, but I must mention that I have heard multiple times that our homeworlds are, in a word, "gone". I do not know how "gone" is... defined, exactly, in this situation. However, I have come to the conclusion that if our homeworlds are "gone", in even the broadest sense ( Read more... )

I--I don't see how our worlds can all be gone.

I mean--uhm--th-there's this girl that just showed up a--a little while ago, and she's from m-my world. But she's from the future. A l-long time in the future.

My world c-can't be gone until after she's ma--uh--born, and I'd be dead of old--old age by then. So maybe they're all gone, but that--it doesn't mean they're gone yet.

Doesn't mean y-your Aislin is gone, just that she will be. And she would s-someday anyway.

There is a simple explanation, Monsieur. She was not of your world. You see, I once read in a very interesting book on scientific hypotheses that there is an infinite number of alternate universes, one stemming from every possibility. For example, this morning, I had a choice of seven suits to wear. That choice alone has, hypothetically, spawned at the very least seven alternate universes.

You see, Monsieur, the girl you speak of, she is not from your universe. Your home. She is from one exactly like it.

Perhaps that may be enough for you. But it is not enough for me.

Alternate u-universe theory, yeah. Heard of it.

Doesn't that m-mean there are an inf--ugh--

[Clears his throat and takes a deep breath.]

Doesn't that mean there are an infinite n-number of universes for you to go back to? Worlds that aren't "gone"? If they're exactly the same, it sh-shouldn't matter. Your Aislin should--she should be herself no matter what universe she's in.

If you c-care about her that much, it shouldn't matter.

You do not understand.

[It is his Aislin he wishes to see.]

I do not wish to argue, Monsieur.

Gone! What do you mean, gone! Impossible!

It is only what I have heard. I do not know whether it is true or not.

[Ashelin's not buying this whole 'gone' thing.]

No. I don't think so.

Perhaps, Mademoiselle, it is best to be optimistic. At the current time, I am not feeling particularly optimistic.

Once you give in, you lose the war. We won't lose.

I do not think of this as a war, Mademoiselle.

You are likely correct. But I cannot believe that my world - that those I knew - are gone.

[It would mean being the only Decepticon left, which is bad. It would mean being without Megatron for the rest of eternity, which is worse.]

We've all lost people, you can't--you-you just can't give up.

How can--

How can you give up?!

I do not know. It is a strange feeling, helplessness. But it is calming.

Perhaps not. Ah, I do not wish to argue this matter, Herz. I am so tired.
