[ TRUE DETECTIVE ]

Despite the shit-storm of disappointment and 'we could have had it allllll...' that season one of this show quickly became, I am definitely back on board for season two. I mean, it helps that W.H and M.M have been relegated to producers and I don't have to actually listen to either of them on a weekly basis butttt.... also, ( Read more... )

I'm thinking of giving True Detective a try, although I haven't even seen season 1 yet. Season 2 will be set up as a completely new story though from what I understand?

Yeah, season two is COMPLETELY different to season one. New characters, storyline, location, feel, narrative technique. Everything is different. Like, for starters, female characters that have something to do besides be abused for the sake of the 100% male storyline, so that's nice! Haha.

I have a love/VERY MUCH HATE relationship with season one. I don't recommend it unless you enjoy RAAAAGE! Haha.

I hadn't heard about Abigail Spencer being in season two (and she definitely wasn't in the premiere). I've just had a look through the actor credits for all eight episodes of season two and she isn't listed that I can see.

I found an online article that talks about her role in season two but it doesn't give any details so I'm not sure how significant it is.

For Abigail Spencer highlights, if you haven't already seen it, then I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Rectify. So. Good.

Orange is the New Black is a little slice of delight!

(So… many… shows… xD) OMG, I KNOW!

And yeah, I definitely say give True Detective a go. Do you plan to start now with season two? Or are you gonna also watch season one? They're completely unrelated so it won't really matter...

GAHH now I have to watch true detective. First, I have been unable to really separate Kitsch from Chon ever since the movie and dammit then The Killing too? I just... This is going to be difficult to resist.

Haha, I've never seen him in anything else so he is also 100% Chon for me! Which is lucky because he's basically playing Chon in this! Ex-military, California, suicidal tendencies, PTSD, THE WORKS.

Try to resist. I DARE YOU!

We really loved Justified. Similar to Deadwood in that it's serialized tv that men who don't watch tv can watch.

Still haven't been able to find a place to buy S2 of True Detective from, but despite the naysayers, I'm all in. Hopefully amazon will have it in the next week or so.

Orange did so not work for me. At all.

I've not seen any Deadwood, but I've heard good things about it.

Only the first episode of season two True Detective has aired so far, which is why you might be having trouble. I had to, ahem, access it. Quietly. If that makes sense :) HBO shows are notoriously difficult to access in Australia. Game of Thrones is a joke. I didn't even bother with the most recent season because of this...

OITNB watched season 3 in 2 days. Don't know what imma do with the rest of my year. Rewatch mostly.

Can we talk about Nicky. Cause damn. Damn. She was totally gonna steal this season for me too.

And Boo. I've always kinda been indifferent to her. But then she helped out Pensatucky and now - she's a favourite.

Infact I don't think I actively dislike any character.

Nope. Can't think of one.

We can definitely talk about Nicky. That actually all seemed a bit odd. Do you know if the actress was no longer available or something?

Boo, though. And Boo and Pensatucky? GLORIOUS!

Infact I don't think I actively dislike any character. YEP! This. It's so nice to be in this situation with a show, to be honest! I mean, I have my faaaaves, but I basically adore the whole thing.

A quick google search shows she has a few films out this year so let's go with that. I was a little bereft that they shipped her off. She's apparently in filming for season 4 though, so unless it's flashbacks I'm a happy girl.

I need to see what happens when she finds out about Morello!

Yay, so glad she'll be back! (Thanks for google-fu-ing it for me!)

And as much as I also wanna see what happens when she finds out about Morello, I also LOVED that wedding!
