I might as well share my thoughts about Livejournal's 'heart' or 'like' feature.

My post got a "like" but I can't see who did it and I don't have the option anywhere to like something.

Were you able to find it now? I wonder if it also depends on the layout. I can see it in any other versions but the app.

I am not fond of Livejournal adding the 'like' feature either. Livejournal is special to me because of its comments.

SAME. You wont find me using that option, for sure!

You need to use a proper NANDA diagnosis.

May I suggest failure to thrive? lol

Hang in there. You can do it and it will be so worth it in the end!

I agree - LJ is decidedly not FB, and shouldn't try to copy it in some deluded belief that it will achieve a similar level of popularity if it does. (That ship has sailed). This feature gives a lazy shortcut to people so that they feel they are interacting even though they haven't actually commented.

A good compromise would be to just have a counter showing how many people (if any) actually read a given blog. In the past I've often wondered if anyone is reading at all! But I'm not sure how that would work - especially if one's content is already featured in someone else's friends feed, meaning there is presumably no "clicking" to confirm that an entry is actually read...

OMG it's so great to hear from you!

"This feature gives a lazy shortcut to people so that they feel they are interacting even though they haven't actually commented."

I couldn't have said that any better!!!! Agreed!

I like that compromise but you're right, that will be tough to track or confirm either.

I'm disappointed by this feature too, I feel like it's giving people an excuse not to bother commenting? I always try to comment because I like offering my thoughts or whatever, and I like receiving peoples comments in turn. I really don't want LJ to turn in to a Facebook mutant either.

I will not go through another loop of quitting anymore

I feel you. But it's also very hard to keep your head above water, isn't it? *Hugs*

I am glad you agree! That was the first I thought about when I saw the 'like' feature.
