I had no idea you could "like" a status now here too. And honestly, I agree with you. Live journal should be more for interactions. But oh well, I'll still try to comment as much as possible. :)
Don't give up! You can do this. It's very hard balancing a job and school, it's an adjustment period, but sure you'll be able to do it. :D
I see it on my friends feed. I've noticed that I don't see it on app (as far as if I want to view who liked my entries) but I can see it on mobile browser and my desktop.
It is harder to find in some layouts. I use a regular LJ skin so I wonder if that factors! Haha.
I completely agree with you. I think it discourages the kind conversation which gives livejournal a great community feeling. It's just not as personal, clicking a "like" button. Although I suppose at the end of the day any kind of response to a post is lovely, including "likes"!
What? LJ has a "like" feature, I didn't even notice. But I also agree with you, I don't want LJ to be like FB. I've been using LJ for 14 years now. I write down my daily life so I can look back on it.
FB I use mainly for family and friends that live far away, I just post photos mostly so they can see us, but that's it.
