Break it early, I say. Maybe the buddy is thinking the same thing but trying to make excuses for it.

Not very long. The longer you wait, the harder he's going to catch it when you finally say something. Wait until you have enough evidence, then lay it on him. I have the same problem with Jamess girlfriend. Boring AND stupid.

I don't see why you need to say anything. Boring gf's don't tend to stay around long, or come out a lot. Also, you can pretty much ignore them even when they are around.
