Time To Try Something New

Nov 10, 2011 08:35

I've been playing Scrabble continuously for four years. Continuously. That is, I've hardly had a break from it for all that time. And I've sure changed through those years, too. It's hard to remember precisely how I thought about stuff back before I started playing Scrabble, and people in the Scrabble community have sure changed me a great deal--in ( Read more... )

They are going alright. Math is difficult and fun! Yay difficult things. My main hurdle in school is being on top of things...I am working on it, which is good. School friends are quite wonderful, especially in choir. I am going to try Sacred Harp music (look it up) soon! Also, Putnam Competition soon. That should be fun.

I pretty much give up Scrabble in between tournaments, other than hosting/going to scrabblek8's club a couple times per month. You seem talented enough that if you didn't devote any more time to studying, you would still fare quite well.

Personally, if I ever was to go on a hiatus, I'd have an awfully hard time staying off of lj, and especially cross-tables.com, but that's just me.

I went on a sort of hiatus since Nationals, broken by the SF open. I only went to club either once or twice in that time, whereas I'd gone pretty much every week before then. I also didn't play any other live games or on ISC although I did cardbox for about 15-30 mins a day. I remember my first day at the CO the board looked funny and it felt like I had no time. I guess that's as hiatusy as I will get. Next month is my tourney (which I've decided to not play in since everyone has decided to come) and then maybe SDO? Vancouver? Dunno yet. Scrabble is fun. I'm not sure wht the point of this post was. I think Scrabble is a pretty cool guy (remember, this meme requires a metonymy) and eh doesn't afraid of anything.

Vancouver, eh...?

And your tourney is lacking one EF and I even tried to pay that EF! You're so selective, meanzar.
