the surgery was a total success. the actual valve repair only took 45 minutes. of course, that doesn't include the time it took to cut him open and swew him up, but i am amazed that they got such a major surgery done so well, so quickly. he was operated on by the top surgeon in the top hospital in the country, though, so maybe that was to be ( Read more... )

I know what you mean about the morality of our parents. Every time my dad coughs membrane out of his lungs or my mom gets a headcold, I freak. >_

*hugs* I know what you mean. My daddy had open heart surgery may my sophomore year for a quad bypass. It was the day before my AP exam, too, so I couldn't go sit with my mommy or anything. The principal came and told me as soon as he got out of surgery, though. Seeing him before he came to was really scary. He was so pale and there was a nurse assigned just to him to make sure everything was all right. Since we've know each other, a lot of my family members have died. It really brings it all home...
