So, I'll have to reinstall office on my laptop to get back to writing my story.

I thought it was just a clogged fan. Why do you have to reinstall Office?

BTW, I've been using Libre Office at home. So far it does everything I use MS Office for and interoperates with MS Office just fine.

Because before I sent it off to be checked I did a factory restore.
