Non-baitCon?

Jun 27, 2008 13:53

I feel like I'm the only one of my friends NOT going to Baitcon this weekend.  What's up with that?  Not that I mind having a weekend home alone, but it seems like anyone I might have called to be social has ALSO gone to Baitcon.  Is BC that big an event that it's a must-go thing?  I don't understand....

I've been in that position a couple years going now... that alone is enough get me to say "hm, maybe I should go."

I mean, ice cream and camping. What's not to like?

There is that. But I need to be here tomorrow to let in the plasterer. I had an offer to go diving tomorrow, too, but I can't take that offer either. Granted, that has nothing to do with BC, of course.

I'm not going. I've never gone, actually.

I'll join the 'not going, never been' chorus. (But I'm working tomorrow, so it wasn't an option this year anyway.)

It was really fun - I went last year and again this year, and it's now a must-go thing for me, personally. but I think it was ~200 people of whom I know maybe 30-40 from places other than just Baitcon, and the others are connected to the Baitcon crowd in other ways. I certainly know more
than 30-40 people in Boston - presumaby the rest of them were doing things other than Baitcon. Like you. :)

but if you enjoy camping, enjoy making and eating ice cream, enjoy doing random folk singing/contradancing/appreciating people making music/making music/circus performing/etc and hanging around while people do that kind of thing in the woods, you would probably like it, and know some of the folks going, you would probably have fun next year...
