A silly question...
I'm the kind of person that, try as I might to avoid doing it, I feel utterly compelled to remove *every last iota* of scratch-off-stuff from any scratch-off kind of thing. If it's a lottery ticket, I open up my choices fully; if the ticket is not a winner, I proceed to clean off the offending mask material
