Oh yea! I remeber that bit. Only other time I saw a knife fight even vagualy like that was Under Siege.

Yeah.. I wouldn't mind if they were people either untrained or who are trained only as fencers... but they are both military freakin' trained for crying out farkin' loud! *headdesks*

Yea but they're trained to pilot mecha. Granted, humnaform mecha, but if I recall correctly those (at least the Macross saga) didn't have any outright mellee weapons.

Still, it would be a fun fight to try and reproduce, post-Bourne Identity.

They wouldn't be trained as assassins true, but in both cases, the BASIC trained use of a knife is covered in the military.. *grumbles* Ah well, I agree yes that's the kind of thing I was thinking, IE no they're not making it a showy fight, they are trying either in one case to kill or another, or in the other to NOT be killed while admiring this woman he's fallen in love with for the first time.
