I'm home recovering from the surgery. Everything seems to have gone very well. I was afraid that I was going to have trouble because I worked the last two nights and hadn't managed much sleep during the day. As it was, I pretty much fell asleep during the prep. Thankfully, the fact that I was so behind on sleep made it easier to fall asleep ( Read more... )

yay! but continue to sleep with the eye goggles on or you might wake up accidentally rubbing at your eyes. I was glad I kept wearing it the full time they said to.

I find that I'm having more trouble with this when awake and distracted... like while sitting at a computer or out people-watching.

ohhhhh hm. well, wear sunglasses! *grin* nah, you'll just rub under them. y'know what? even years after I got the surgery sometimes I go to rub my eyes and make the motion like I've put my finger under glasses. or if I can't see very well cos I'm tired, I go to push up my glasses. hehehe...

how is during the surgery? i think it would freak me out more to be awke and looking right at it.

It's more than a little nerve racking, but mostly there are just a lot of flinch factor moments. Once they numbed me up, I found I only really had problems remembering to breath, trying not to squirm around in the seat, and trying to keep from flinching when I'd feel something on my cheek, because after the first bit, you really can't see much of anything anyway.
