Today is my birthday. I didn't tell anyone 'cause I'm not the type that likes to draw attention to myself, but folks at work discovered it anyway ( Read more... )

Congrats on hitting the double nickel. :)
You're not so much older than my parents. I'll have to start teasing them soon. They're 52.

Do you tend to do anything for yourself on your b-day? Buy yourself a special treat?

You make it sound like an achievement.

Yeah, and you're about the same age as my daughter. She will turn 26 this year.

Not usually. I was tempted to post on Saturday, that Monday is my birthday, and I don't know what I want. Maybe I'll go treat myself to a digital camera. They are a lot less hassle than 35mm, though I don't know yet if the picture quality is a good as that Nikon I have at home. The other members of my department want to treat me to a birthday lunch. It's a tradition around here. I've requested Mexican. I'm going to spend lunch today sitting in the car reading a new book.

Quite coincidental.

Hope you had a good day. Reading a good book is as good as it gets. :)

I've been thinking about getting a digital camera, myself. I'm just not sure what I would do with the photos.

All my photos are just stacked around and put in boxes hear and there. My daughter has a better idea. She has scrap books. One for every year of her life since 9'th grade, and she took most of the pictures contained there in. However, I think she inhereted the propensity to do this because her grandmother, and one of her aunts does or did the same thing, but she didn't learn it from them.
