that only reminds me of a beatles' song. I need not quote it, but when applied to what you have quoted, it basically says it's not worth trying.

It's just a nihilistic sentiment. I don't really know the Beatles but if it's something along the idea of 'there is nothing original' then I could see where that's coming from here. But still, wash your hands and start anew! There's plenty to do and indulge in if you just tune out the static.
