EEEK! surgery! EEEEK!
sorry, I'm a bit scared of those things. Plus I just had tonsilitis for almost 3 weeks :-S

Lots of luck and a quick recovery!

I'm quite lucky normally they make you suffer for ages before you get surgery but mine was always back within a week of me getting of anti-biotics and it's been screwing with my life so my lovely GP got me a referral and I gave the ENT a nice sob story. Had another GP in Dunedin that was gonna make me suffer for longer. I don't like her much anymore.

Argh, surgery. And n-words, probably. GOOOOOD luck, hon. Hope it goes well and as painless as possible! *hugs*

I don't mind n-words... actually i should clarify, I don't mind them taking stuff out. Putting stuff in tends to hurt. I'd tell you the nice story about the last time i got blood tests but i'm pretty sure that you don't wanna hear it

the tonsillectomy is ok. just think, for the rest of your life you will be almost guaranteed not to get tonsillitus again.

I had it when I was 7 and while it was a bit scary I made my Mum stay in the operating room until I was asleep. I did tell her I wanted her in there with me the whole time and she did promise, but I think that was just to stop me flipping out entirely. I think the anaesthetic was the most painful thing as far as I remember.

Can't get tonsilitus again as i'll have no tonsils. could still get sore throats tho.

I dunno what procedure they follow there, but we always get told that there is a possibilty of still getting it as there might be a small bit left.

but in 15 years I havent had it again. Swollen glands still hurt mind. But I dont get that anywhere near as bad now either.
