What's the matter with Kansas? So goes the question. From my perspective, there's only one thing that's the matter with Kansas:

It's one part "where I'm from" and two parts "where I've been". I've never understood why it's so difficult for people to understand that!

Some people can't help making assumptions. Maybe its like having a grandparents from France -- it is your familial heritage and you're doomed to be from Kansas despite your best efforts.
