My deepest apologies but I will not be of much aid to you. I too am trying to understand the concept behind these "stockings" and this "Christmas". My knowledge does not seem too much greater than your own... Perhaps as we are both confused, you and I could uncover the meaning together?

That would be a wise plan, my friend. In that case, I will share what I do know; this 'christmas' is a festival with many variations and meanings, depending on various factors, but at its heart it is a festival of giving. A time to spend with one's family and friends, and enjoy good food.
It is tied heavily to winter, and to the colours red and green... though I have seen lots of white, silver and blue used as well.

I see... From the way some people here were talking, I wasn't certain if this "Christmas" festival was good or bad. [He's met a few westerners with a bit of a "bah, humbug" attitude...] It sounds as though this festival is one that should be welcomed and embraced, if it celebrates the bonds of all men.

Let me see... oh! Do not step underneath any hangings of the 'mistletoe' plant, least you are willing to kiss any other who is stood beneath it. Also, I am told a stocking is hung so it can be filled with gifts, though by who or what I do not yet know.
