Seattle + Snow = Idiots aplenty

Seriously what is up with people in this area? I mean we did this drill a couple months ago. You'd think people would have gotten used to a couple inches of snow; but no people still couldn't figure out how to drive in it. So once again, folks commutes were like 10x longer than they should be. People abandoned their cars in the MIDDLE of the road ( Read more... )

I know what you mean. I'm from Montana, and life doesn't stop when it snows there. The students around here have had at least 3 snow days so far this year and more due to the power outages after the wind storm. In my school years, K-12, we only had 4 days off due to weather. 2 were state-wide due to extreme wind chill (-60 F and colder) and the other 2 were due to volcanic ash from Mt. Saint Helens.

I get frustrated with the reaction to the weather here. My girlfriend, Kathy, is going to be teaching until July if this keeps up.

Well, it's not the snow but the ice that's making it hard to get around. Personally, I dont know how I'm getting to work because I don't know how I'm going to either catch a but or get down the hill. I'd rather not work at home today, but it looks that I might have to. :/

Hunny, people in Seattle can't drive no matter the weather. Rain, shine, snow, slush, whatever. It's like they're all learning how to drive at the same time. It was maddening to be in Seattle traffic.

The snow hasn't really stopped me from driving. But shit people are stupid in this area.

Kim and I were outside last night for almost three hours helping people up the hill. The amount of people who don't know how to drive in the snow astounds me. In addition to people speeding and talking on cell phones .... I wanted to wipe a number of them off the planet last night.
