D's surgery went very well. The surgeon says he replaced the bad disks and cleared out "a ton" of bone spurs that were impinging on nerves. D has to wear a neck brace and take it very easy for a while. He's home and sleeping.

I'm very glad to hear the surgery went well. A friend underwent a similar procedure and, while slow, her recovery was a rather steady progress. (Lots of directions regarding not picking up/carrying things over a certain weight, mostly.) Good luck to D. And you, too, of course!

B-day was fine, thank you, sweets. =) You know how it gets after a while. I told Boy Groom that gifts are a requirement, because if I have to get older, I damn well want something good out of it!! I mean, increased wisdom (hopefully) and life experience are great, but I want some high-quality material goods! Hee hee.

Thanks, too, for congrats on job! I did take it and start July 31. It's one I sold myself aggressively to HR and the head of the department to secure, so I am THRILLED to have met with success. =D

I just finished up at old job - I went in yesterday for 5 hours to tie up some loose ends - and now have an entire, wonderful week off to relax, sleep, read, or whatever. I think I will have to compose an entry about this whole job sitch and fill in some of the details since this is an exciting prospect for me.

I'm not getting any of your posts. Why is this? Bad, bad LJ. At least I'm not seeing them. I asked you a question and all, over on my LJ.

*hugs* I'm glad your husband's home and on the mend.

*hugs* Thanks for thinking of me!

I'm still lurking, but I haven't been commenting much, and, as you can see, haven't posted since July. I guess I just need to get back in the habit. I don't want to lose touch with you and my little posse of lj friends. I have been working more hours and busy chauffeuring Jacob to activities. (...and spending more time than is strictly necessary reading Brokeback Mountain slash.)
