Hiya,

Do you think we're born violent, or is it learned?? Do you think violent films/tv series/games have anything to do with it??

I think we have the capacity to be just as violent as the next guy, but media certainly has something to with some of it.

Then again, I've played violent games and watched violent TV shows and I'm a chill gal who's slow to anger.

Most video games are out in japan first, and I don't hear about high violence rates over there due to video games.

Some people are less tolerant and just plain lack the coping skills others have, it's a combination of factors, IMO, but not from any media combos.

Honestly the media seems to be more of an outlet than an instigator from my experience. Those who play certain video games prior to snapping and harming someone usually have a history of social and anger problems to begin with. I don't believe anyone is born "violent" but there are people born without the proper inhibitors in their brain so they literally can't stop themselves. But can violent behavior be learned and imitated? Absolutely.

I realized violence could be used to force a person when I had my ass beat by a girl who didn't want to share the puzzle boards in kindergarten. I guess maybe I learned it from her.
