 I managed to stretch out my birthday quite well this year, but I think it really is now over.   I got a really sweet present from my goddaughter.  She created an original cookie recipe for me, which required making cookies several times to figure it out.  Then she baked the perfected cookies, printed out the recipe, and decorated a cookie tin for

The special-just-for-you cookies sound fabulous. How old is this goddaughter these days. I remember hearing you talk about her when she was teensy, but that may have been 10 years ago by now.

Sorry things were not so fabulous with the bf.

The goddaughter is 9. The way I remember is that I bought her baby gift in Manhattan when Sue and I went to see Aida in Feb 2001. And that's easy to remember because the towers were still standing.

Yes, the male of the species can be a problem. Fortunately, I'm used to this particular specimen, so I wasn't surprised and therefore wasn't really too disappointed. I meant to continue the post to talk about other, better, birthday experiences, but I ran out of steam.
