Technology Overload

 I've never been able to indulge my love for new gadgets very often, so I always had time to get used to one before a new one came along that I needed to learn how to use.   However, lately my Luddite tendencies are beginning to appear.  I bought the new camcorder this summer so I could take video of the baby nephew, and I'm pretty comfortable with ( Read more... )

You're ahead of the game as far as I'm concerned. All my video is in MOV format because for some reason it automatically goes to Quicktime when I download to my computer, so they are all MOV format and I didn't even know there was software available to convert to other formats. And why a Windows based computer would default to an Apple based movie format that is entirely incompatible with the Windows Movie Maker or the Toshiba movie maker that both came installed on my laptop, I will never know. *end of rant, thanks for listening*

The video format comes from the camera, not the computer you download it to, and I think a number of cameras do use the MOV format. If I find a good free conversion program I'll let you know.

YOu sound impressively non-Luddite to me, and I know Luddism (says the woman who hasn't even attempted to look at your video of the nephew and other interesting people because she has dial-up).
