Fun With Insurance

 So I tried to refill my prescription for antidepressants yesterday, and it was denied as needing a prior authorization.  All very logical EXCEPT that my insurance has been paying for it since August without a word of complaint.  Then my doctor sent in the request for approval and it was denied.  Of course, neither my doctor nor the nurse ( Read more... )

I so agree. Ultimately, you probably have to accept whatever they want to do, but it makes you feel sort of ... violated? dismissed? irrelevant? ... when they are so cavalier about the impact their ineffectiveness and conflicting statements have on you. All you really want is for someone to say, "we made a mistake and I am sorry about that" and then you can just get on with it. Validation matters!

Thanks for the offer! I don't think I need that; I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor's office today (I remain optimistic that they will call...)
