Don't get drunk on St. Paddy's. Think for a change.

If you care *anything* about your Irish heritage, St. Patrick's day should *not* be about drinking. You should think about this:

If I were to even contemplate going to the parade Saturday, which I can't because I work, it would be to show my support of the protesters of the M3 motor highway.

protest, ireland, druidry

It just makes me sick every time I read another article about the M3 going ahead. I can't believe that the government can't see how much Tara means to the people and to Ireland.

when Lowes went up in New Hartford, I wanted to go and pull the stakes out that marked the construction at night and our area is becoming sadder

it's not the same, but I was thinking of land that had value to me that has been completely wasted by urbanization and that is what I thought of... destruction in the name of progress. Read the Ecology of Commerce if you haven't

Mel actually felt the same way, really. I think the last time we went to Syracuse we noticed a new Lowes or two, too, which is kind of depressing (not Lowes specifically, just the poor use of land to build these huge wasteful buildings, though we don't need any more "home improvement" stores anyway).

the drug store wars going on in this area are sickening. do we really need a cvs/rite aid/walgreens on every corner?

that is one of the most gorgeous places i've ever seen.

why must we stupidly ruin sacred land for the sake of it? there must be another place to build that highway (if it needs building at all.)
