Anniversary Of Change and Hope

As I wait at work...expecting to work a 13-14 hour day, I find myself thinking back a year ago. On that date history was made and whatever happens, that is indelibly inked in the history books. A year later, I still like Obama, he is a nice guy, genuinely so, inoffensive (at least in public) easy going, even when he is angry...I don't think his ( Read more... )

Nah - we've guessed he'll be re-elected, too - because who do you guys really have?

I don't think Obama is working all that hard on some things (and yes, health care is one of them - he could have rammed it through while Kennedy was still alive, and didn't) because he's working harder on others - and I think that they are the wrong things. And I am taking the liberty of assuming you agree with me.

Yeah, I understand what diplomacy is. And I will agree up front, even before the fact, that I have a much shorter timetable than he has - probably even more than you have. But I think he's making a mess of the Middle East and Iran, and we will not even have to wait for it to be visited on our children.

Yes, I would ADORE to be wrong on this.

It is remarkably easy to blame Obama. That is what the republican party does.

But he can't be bipartisan when the Republicans unanimously vote against anything he does. He cannot be a diplomat with a political party that has decided that damaging America for their polical ambitions is a good idea. For health care, he is stuck having to get 100% of the Democratic politicians on board to pass anything. Because of that he is forced to accept the rediculous pork that individual politicians are putting in because the Republicans refuse to accept any kind of compromise.

How about the REPUBLICANS try even a little bit to be bi-partisan. It is just like them to blame the Democrats for not being able to get through their policies of HATE. The REPUBLICANS have a policy now of trying to damage America so they can come in and save us later. It makes me sick.

Most of the hate I see is on the other side and much of it from my friends here and in various communities.

Obama suffers from a level of hype that made him into a Messiah. That wasn't his fault, others did that to him.

However, the Democrats had control for a YEAR and did not get their bill through.

Republican's didn't run on Hope..."Change"...it is/was incumbent on Obama to be bi-partisan...but more importantly, it was incumbent on Democrats in Congress to be bi-partisan, if that was really their intent.
