Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

Jan 22, 2007 21:25

I was on the Metro this evening when I noticed a poster for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.   It is a marathon and half (39 mile) walk over a two-day weekend (May 5-6 in Washington, D.C.)  I've heard about this fundraiser but haven't lived in a city that hosted one of these walks.  It looks like a great way to not only get in shape but to help ( Read more... )

I'll let you know if I do sign up. I'm still in decision mode. Trying to raise that much money really scares me.

I'm worried that I'll only raise $17!

Let's say that one of us would like to donate some money and help you raise enough money...How would we give said money to you?

If I do sign up, then the Avon Breast Cancer people will give me a website where people can donate.

I'm going to make a decision by the weekend. I'm so afraid that I won't be able to raise that much money!

P.S. I'm so excited that Little Miss Sunshine was nominated for an Oscar! Yay!

Without a doubt.

Just let me know when and how and I will donate. It is an excellent cause and I am glad that you are giving it your consideration. :)

Keep smiling.

would you believe I actually had a dream about you and I doing one of these together? How weird is that?

I'm very interested in coming up and doing the walk with you. The kicker is obviously, I've got a 3 month old. I need to talk it over with the hubby and see what he thinks. He'd need to take at least Friday and Monday off of work to stay home with the kiddo, so I've got to see if he'd be willing to do that. I've checked flights and since I live in Atlanta, there are shuttles pretty much every hour, and I can get a round trip ticket for less the $300. I was planning on doing a triathlon in May, but I could certainly scrap those plans for this.

I don't know if it would be feasible for me to come up there, and if I can't, I'd of course make a donation to you and even help you raise money if you needed.

I'll check with the hubby. And cross my fingers.

I'm still deciding whether I'm going do it. I'm leaning towards yes, but I'm scared I won't be able to raise enough money.

I would love, love, love for you to come out and walk it with me!!!
