#1 Reason Today not so Cheerful
Woke up this morning at 6 AM. And 7:30 AM. And 8:45 AM... Felt sick, headachey, tired, first too hot and then later too cold. Finally dragged myself out of bed around 2 PM, have been feeling and acting like a giant slug since then.
Not necessarily unhappy, but definitely not cheerful.. -

From two days ago: dropping in on i_leonardo and her "blondie" and spending a couple of hours in wide-ranging geeky conversation.
Also, getting my prescription meds for just the co-payment when I'd expected to have to pay the full price out of pocket. Presumably there will be a reckoning later, but for today I'm financially ahead of the game. -

Getting to kazmat's house close enough to be on time to be early; a tour of the building used as a setting for Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The House of the Seven Gables" (which I really ought to read some day) with kazmat; not freaking out claustrophobically on the "secret staircase" through the chimney into the servants' loft; tour guide only dropping two ( Read more... ) -

Catching up with myself
Reflecting further on my problematic interview last Friday, I am probably imposing a load of unhappiness on myself because I'm not good at pretending I'm something I'm not. job search continues
I knocked my job search up a notch last week: I'd been sending out resumes somewhat desultorily for a couple of weeks. It's hard to get started, and even once started it's hard to push myself to try for jobs that I'm not sure I'm qualified for. busy days
I've been working on a friend's various computer disks, including units that were always external backups and disks removed from internal service and connected to my computer via Firewire enclosures and USB adaptors. It got to the point where I had more of his computer equipment than he did! I'm trying to build down from that now ( Read more... )
