So we're going through the mail today, and I had something from Vanderbilt, which is one of the places I've applied. Of course, I'm not expecting to hear anything about admission until March or so. But Anderson jokes, "There's your acceptance letter."

And it is!

And I'm way more excited than I expected to be!

Vanderbilt's an alright school, eh?

I've officially applied to Vanderbilt, only to learn that they don't let Master's students teach classes, only Ph.D peeps can do that. Which sucks, cause Vanderbilt is kind of my top choice, and I was really hoping for a T.A. position. Their financial aid page was unpleasantly misleading ( Read more... )

My dad died from a massive heart attack yesterday morning.

I keep expecting to wake up from a really bad dream.

I'm tired. And old.

So we went to NOLA, and The Decemberists were awesome!! I definitely felt like I was back in college again, going to the House of Blues, walking around Decatur, going to Angeli's (delish) after the concert, stepping over bums on the street, and basically being up all night.
