So Bush DID volunteer for Vietnam, but was denied. This story deflates the liberal's whining that Bush went in to the National Guard to avoid Vietnam. I had heard about this story, but in a slightly different context, about a year ago, when a former pilot ( Read more... )

I must now say that I was wrong on
a particular aspect in my previous posting. In my previous posting I
said, "The only thing we know for sure is that Kerry will continue in
Iraq basically the same way as Bush, unless of course his finger says
otherwise."

So Kerry has determined to stick by a position on Iraq, and that position is basically two fold:

It was very beneficial for California when Arnold vetoed the bill raising the minimum wage. For raisining the bill would have hurt the California economy. Some think that raising the minimum wage, thereby giving more money to people, would help the economy because then people would have more money to spend.
