I'm desperately trying to recover my grades right now, so to succeed in that means that I can't write you the emails I'd like to in order to express my sympathies and offer a caring pair of ears--a situation which I regret very, very much....

But I did want to at least drop a note here and say that I am so profoundly sorry that this has happened to you. I wish you both strength and whatever peace you can find during such painful events.
