He's not the same anymore

My DH has been very sick for about 2 years, quite possibly more.  Its hard to say because he doesn't trust me enough to tell me about his symptoms unless I can actually see them.  He has heart disease, uses a CPAP machine and may have MS.  He also has IBS ( Read more... )

I hope you can get him to a good neurologist. It is possible that his behaviour/personality changes could be neurologically based.

He just got to see a neurologist that is supposed to be one of the best in the state. Even though all the tests but one will be done this month, he can't see the doc again until Feb, because its a very busy office.

Why do I stay? Because some days I think it might get better. We do not have anything approaching a normal relationship.

Also I can't dump a helpless man and leave him with no resources. I rescue hurt animals because I can't turn away from them. Its the same instinct in me. I'd have to have somebody to hand him over to before I could just leave him.

He can't drive, he can't concentrate enough to hold a job, he has no income and if I leave he has no insurance.

I am going to see a therapist this week.
