I meant to alert you to this programme on Cannock Chase a couple of days ago, which speculates on whether Mordor was inspired by army training in Staffordshire (12 minutes in).

I do hope you're collecting these for a book!

We don't appear to claim to have inspired him to write LotR etc - but we have used the characters on stamps and coins.

And I have found a book review of 'Sigurd and Gudrun' which points out our connection to that!
