so. just realized it's been a few days since i updated about my dad. things are going well. he's still in the hospital but they are hoping to let him go home at the end of this week...if the meds keep working. they had to put him back on the iv drip for the water retention but now the doctor is planing on trying pills. fingers are crossed. i ( Read more... )

Dad is doing good. He wants to come home but he is still on the injections of the one water pill, haven't even switched him to the pill form yet, and he is still having a lot of trouble walking. It's looking like he will have to control the water issues with medication and diet…there is damage to his kidneys and liver and retaining or taking in ( Read more... )

joe and i saw my dad last night. he's in a regular room, off all of the constant iv drips and looks and sounds much better. all of these things are good things. he still has a long road to go but he's heading in the right direction. they are still figuring out the liver and kidney issues, i guess that will be more of a slower process. the real ( Read more... )

well, joe and i stopped to see dad last night. he was still in icu, but he was up, alert and grumpy. all of which are good things. he reminded me of my dad, which is very good. not too much news to report, other than they feel good about the bleeding being stopped. now they can move on ( Read more... )

my sister called the hospital to see how things were with my dad. he had a good night, there is talk of moving him today to a regular room. yay! when my sister stopped up to see him yesterday his was pretty much back to his usual grumpy self so things are looking up a little. still need to figure out the kidneys and the liver but...as long as ( Read more... )

thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. they scoped my dad down the throat yesterday...and found a spot that was bleeding. got that patched up and his counts are up a bit and he seems to be stable. hopefully that takes care of the bleeding and we can move on to the next issue. his heart is holding its own so that's good and he is still ( Read more... )

so 2008 went out like shit and 2009 is starting off just as bad. my dad went into the hospital on monday and was moved to icu early yesterday morning, there seems to be a few things going. he is a very sick man (his heart, his legs and now he's bleeding somewhere but they aren't sure where)and we are trying to find out just what's going on. he ( Read more... )
