I just finished The Bats the Rats and the Ugly by Flint and found it good (like everything else I’ve read of his). Before that was Moore’s Lamb which was as good as DragonSus said it would be (my father is reading Lamb now). So I was trying to read John Marco’s The Eyes of God, primarily because the second book in the series, The Devil’s Armor looked neat (I’ve got a soft spot for cursed armor that gives you great power at the cost of your humanity). So is it a good sign that when I feel depressed my rate of job application increases? Apparently somewhere between 1.7% and 3.6% of the jobs advertised on Monster are filled though Monster (and Monster has the highest percentages of the lot). http://answers.google. ( Read more... ) -

Today was the first bike ride of the year! Some of the cinders have been brushed from the street sides, the only ice and snow is in spots that are permenantly shadowed, and afternoon temperatures have been in the mid fourties, in short, we have excellent biking conditions. When I got up this morning at eight, the outside temperature was a degree below zero Fahrenheit. The foot of snow we’ve had outside for the last two weeks will not be melting off today! I made it (cross-country) skiing on Monday, had quite a bit of fun and am happy to say there’s even more snow up in the mountains. Also handy, it’s been above ( Read more... )
