Kyungtak had grudgingly accepted the unpleasant doctor. After all, Jin Hyuk had saved his father's life. He scowled at the though of the odd doctor living in the same house as his fiance but the doctor also saved his best friend. So Young-hwi should help his savior. If it were for Dr. Jin to live at their house, so be it.
But why was this tall, idiotic man going with them?
"If you have no where to live Yunho-ssi, you can also come with us," Young-hwi offered graciously. "I heard you were the one who carried me back to my house and comforted my mother during the surgery."
"Oh, that was nothing," Yunho says with a blinding smile. Kyungtak stares for a few moments. He's never seen such white teeth before. "It was the least I could do. I'm just an entertainer. There was nothing I could really do to help with the surgery."
Dr. Jin seemed to chuckle nervously and shot Kyungtak a quick look. The police officer scowls. Yes, he's caught on that lie long ago. When Yunho stationed himself outside the door and allowed his fiance to be the assistant, Kyungtak knew that the other man had never been any type of assistant.
But his father was well and other than being rude, Jung Yunho didn't seem dangerous. So Kyungtak was willing to let this go. Of course he gave Dr. Jin a strict warning and felt a bubble of dissatisfaction when the doctor returned his hard glare.
Kyungtak left the four standing in the courtyard. What was important at the moment was his father's well-being not the whereabouts of some vagabonds. So with quick strides, he makes his way back to his father's bedside.
The bedridden man seemed so fragile and tired compared to his usual intimidating presence. Not even in his youth did Kyungtak ever see his father so vulnerable. He reached for his father's hand and the skin to skin contact shocked him.
Kyungtak held his father's hand with such gentleness, fearful his father might awaken to see such a weak action. As the son of a concubine, he only remembers a handful of times his father had held his hand.
Most of the time had been his youthful hopefulness. Maybe this time father won't shake it off. Maybe this time father will hold my hand like he does my half brother's.
So as he grew older, he stopped dreaming for such things. He stopped dreaming for his father's acceptance and definitely stopped hoping for his father's warmth. He had to stop because he wasn't the legitimate son.
"Father!" and speak of the devil, Kim Dae Gyun bursted in. He is loud and noisy. Kyungtak furrows his brow in distaste.
"His Excellency needs rest," Kyungtak says.
"You," his brother seethes. "Acting as though you are the legitimate son! What would you have done if father died?"
Kyungtak is tempted to scoff but he holds it in as he does everything else. Even when his brother kicks him down, Kyungtak holds it in. With the best martial art skill in the police force, he knows he could easily overpower Dae Gyun. But he doesn't. He leaves.
And with his head bowed, Kyungtak runs right into the tall idiotic man.
"Are you alright?" Yunho asks, his posture awkward and tone light. It's obvious he's heard everything that happened.
"Why are you here?" Kyungtak asks in a loud whisper. He was unwilling to alert his brother of this outsider. It was embarrassing enough for this man to have heard such a humiliating event. He would not give this man the pleasure of actually seeing it.
"Uh, well, Dr. Jin realized he probably didn't give enough of the disinfectant so," Yunho says, holding up a small white tube. "Same instructions as before."
Kyungtak reaches out to take the tube and when he tugged, Yunho didn't let go.
"Have you ever seen me before?" Yunho asks suddenly. Kyungtak looks up and narrows his eyes. Just as usual, this man was spouting rubbish.
"I have not," Kyungtak responds and give a strong yank, freeing the disinfectant from Yunho's fingers. "If there's nothing else, please leave."
"But I don't know the way to their house," Yunho responds shamelessly with a bright smile.
"I would definitely remember a man as infuriating as you," Kyungtak growls. Yunho merely smiles, following the police officer half a step behind.
It isn't until they reached the Hong residence that Kyungtak realized he could have just requested his men to escort this man here. So in his embarrassment, he insists he was here to see Young-Rae as well.

A/N: Okay, I ended up changing some things. -____-" They were in the courtyard with Kyungtak when Young-hwi offered their home instead of outside without Kyungtak being there. Oh well, there were bound to be small modifications.
Ah, Kyungtak, I feel sorry for you. Yunho's going to be persistant.
